This week in the sketchbook, the digital one anyway, I have a new landscape study!
Last month I had made a Patreon post and sent out art cards of this Ghost Ranch image. It was a digital painting study of an area in northern New Mexico where I live.
So continuing with the theme of desert cliffs, I wanted to do a new one. I’m trying to keep it more simple in terms of technique. I wanted to just use simple shapes to achieve the values.
This is just straight out of imagination. I really like old western imagery and this kind of like bright striking southwest color palette.
